How does a Treadmill Work?
A treadmill is operated by a motor, usually between 1.5 to 3 horsepower. The power produced by the motor helps turn the belt. Without a motor, the treadmill cannot function as it should. The belt often has a uniform thickness and is propelled by either your movement or the controls.
The belt of a treadmill measures between 14 to 24 inches wide.
A treadmill also has a deck that supports the constant movement on the machine. The deck is an extension of the frame, and it should be sturdy enough to support the weight of users. The rollers, on the other hand, support the belt. The bigger the rollers, the more stable they will be. A large roller will also make your machine durable.
Most motorised treadmills have controls that monitor the heart and pulse rates. Also, these machines usually come with some pre-installed workout programs.
