Understanding the NHS Voucher Scheme
A government programme called the NHS Voucher Scheme was created to assist people in paying for their glasses or contact lenses.
The type of prescription you have will determine the value of the voucher. For instance, if you require bifocal or complex lenses, the value of the voucher will be higher.
To apply for the voucher, you must have your eyes examined. The optometrist will give you an optical voucher if they suggest glasses. Any eye doctor who accepts NHS vouchers, including Vision Express, can use this.
Those receiving certain benefits, such as the Pension Credit Guarantee Credit, Universal Credit, or Income Support, are eligible for the NHS Voucher Scheme. Low-income individuals can also access it through the NHS Low Income Scheme.
