Being an Attorney or Deputy for a friend or relative is a serious undertaking whatever your professional background or experience. Typically you will be required to undertake your duties at a time of emotional stress as a result of the serious illness or loss of mental capacity for the donor.
Kreston Reeves Financial Planning Limited is available to offer qualified and professional advice and guidance with sensitivity and understanding of these most difficult situations.
About Kreston Reeves Financial Planning Limited
Kreston Reeves Financial Planning has achieved the Chartered Financial Planners accreditation from the Chartered Insurance Institute. This means that we have satisfied rigorous criteria in respect of professional qualifications and good business practices. You can be confident that you are dealing with one of the UK’s leading firms that is wholly committed to providing you with the best possible advice, service and support.
A number of our advisers have already achieved Chartered status on an individual basis and are among only 4000 individuals to have reached this standard. Personal development is actively encouraged by the firm and we confidently expect more of our advisers to attain Chartered status in the near future.
We are also part of Kreston Reeves who provide a wide range of accountancy, business advisory and financial services to businesses, not for profit organisations, private individuals and families.’
Much of our work arises as a result of recommendation from existing clients and from professional connections.
Paul’s experience and qualifications
I have provided financial advice for more than 25 years. Having started my financial advisory career with NatWest/RBS, I moved to Kreston Reeves Financial Planning Ltd in April 2006. Since then I have provided independent financial advice to many clients, have achieved Chartered Financial Planner status, become a full member of SOLLA (Society of Later Life Advisers) in June 2012 and have recently passed the 5 year SOLLA re-accreditation. A lot has happened in five years and I have had the pleasure to meet and advise many clients since becoming a member.
My work with elderly clients and their relatives is extremely rewarding and I am passionate that my clients receive the highest quality advice and service. I recognise that the circumstances surrounding the request for advice are difficult for the relatives of those needing care and who typically have the added responsibility of being Attorney. Recent personal experience has reminded me just how difficult it can be to arrange care for a close relative and to deal with the burden of financial decision making.
I live on the Kent coast near Broadstairs with my partner Geraldine (Gerry), Talisker Storm (a substantial Maine Coon cat) and more recently Lucy (Cockapoo puppy).
In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing and listening to music, the great outdoors, walking and bird watching.
